Philosophy

Cooking with Sugar is about cooking with love and cooking with passion.  I have been sharing my cooking secrets with family and friends for many years. My passion for cooking and entertaining is so much a part of me it is what I dream about most days.  What people don’t usually realize is that my passion for the foods I cook and the foods my family eats is the reason that I am fit and healthy!   I started Cooking with Sugar to share this with you.

If I had a dollar for every person that came to my home for a meal and said to me “Oh. if I ate like this all the time I would be fat.”   The funny thing about that is that I’m not fat and neither is my family. We are all very fit and healthy and we aren’t on a DIET! I tell them if they ate like me they would be thin and I can teach you how.

If you read the section about me and my family, you’ll see that it all started in my grandmother’s kitchen and her 20 foot garden.   I no longer have my own garden because I have a busy career, an amazing husband, two beautiful children and two dogs, but I still manage to make time to cook and enjoy food and family.  And when people ask what makes my family tick, my husband happy, my kids healthy and keeps us all so alive every day, I try to explain that it’s simple. It’s about food.  Enjoying cooking, enjoying food, enjoying eating together.  It’s truly, and should be, the fabric of our lives.

People need to see that cooking can be easy, fun and fulfilling.   Call it my personal mission.  My little culinary ministry. I want to teach them not just how to follow a recipe but how to cook, to eat, to think, to taste, to share and to enjoy the gift of food.

I don’t care if you can’t boil water or you’ve been cooking your whole life.  I want to show you how cooking will help you lose weight, improve your marriage, give you more time with your family and just make life better.

Cooking and eating is sexy. Think about the act of preparing food  and eating it. When we cook we prepare something that people are going to put into their bodies — not just for sustenance but for pleasure. It’s an intimate experience that we don’t even think about most days.

Food was meant to be enjoyed. I believe if we all could slow down, cook, and enjoy the food we eat, that life would be sweeter and we would all be healthier.   I know this is true because I live it and I’m going to teach you how to as well.

It’s a philosophy I call “Cooking with Sugar!”  Life is too short to rush through every day without tasting how sweet it can be.  So please, let me teach you how to “Cook with Sugar”.   I guarantee it will change your life.

Pull up a stool.  Put on an apron.  (Wash your hands!).   Let’s get cooking.
